However, even with the additional measures Google had an increase in malware and viruses in the 3rd Quarter making it the leading mobile device with the most possible apps that are consider malware or viruses. So of the malware available within an app that’s downloaded could steal images or information on your device, wipe you device clean or worst, view all of your text messages on the device. The next time you are looking to download an app, make sure it’s from a trusted developer before just clicking.

New LinkedIN Success

While Facebook made many Internet companies especially in the social media market skeptical about ever going Public, LinkedIN leads the pack with continuing success. LinkedIN, considered the 3rd largest social network in the world and the #1 professional networking site. LinkedIN continues to see success adding 2 new users every second and seeing month over month growth in revenue. In fact, LinkedIN just reported an 81% increase in revenue year over year. So what makes LinkedIN so successful? Connecting with top-level executives, learning about companies and being discovered for a possible employment opportunity. In a time where many are looking for employment, they are turning to LinkedIN to be connected and active in hopes of fighting their great next job.

Facebook Ad Exchange Actually Working

Facebook Exchange, a real-time ad bidding platform that allows businesses to out-bid for ad space on Facebook. Analysts are now saying that this has not only help the competition of ad placement on Facebook but has also help Facebook quadruple their revenue since releasing the Ad Exchange. Also, since the release businesses are saying that their Facebook ads are performing better than Google AdWords. Some of Facebook’s most active businesses say they have seen a 16x ROI.

NBC Was Hacked

Major television network NBC woke up on Sunday to a bunch of pages either not working or linking to a page that said “Pyknic – Remember, remember the 5th of November. The gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.” This is in reference Guy Fawkes Day which is the British holiday that celebrates the failed attempt to blow up the UK Parliament. Note that Pyknic is not at all associated with the hacking mega group Anonymousw who recently was credited for hacking Zynga and has mention a possible hack of Facebook.

Android Leading the Market Share for Smartphones

After Q3 reports are coming out from major smartphone markers like Samsung, Google, Apple and more; Google is leading the pack with smartphone operating system. In Q3 of 2012, 3 in 4 smartphones purchased or shipped were using Google’s operating system Android. While reports that Android is still inferior to major competitor Apple, Android’s ecosystem is developed around many hardware makers like Samsung, LG, Motorola and more making the device much more available to users. Smartphones now own 47% of the total US market share of mobile phones, which is an increase of 11%. Many expect this to increase in 2013 over 60%.
